Job assignments A/ Built the structure for the bathtub but not any bathtub: A minimalist therapeutic urban bathtub B/ Install another state of the art Urban shower in the master bathroom C/ Finishing the joints Alternative: Install metal corners Flower box Level the patio A/ Built the structure for the bathtub The kitchen and the bathrooms are at the heart of every renovation project. It is very important that you choose a supplier you can trust. The quality of the appliances you will be installing will make a big difference on the quality of your renovation project and on the re-sale value of your house. Also, it is a question of style. This is why we choose to go with some of the best products on the market. We have the pleasure today to install a state-of-the-art Urban minimalist-inspired therapeutic bathtub Crafted with pure lines and innovative design. it is already preplumbed and the unit can be added to any bathroom as long as you have the space for it. We need to build an alcove according to the manufacturer installation guide. Here are the tools, You have a couple of hours, Do not waste any time because we got more work for you. For a perfect fit, the structure measurements should be verified against the unit to ensure a proper fit. O.K. you’ve done pretty good. Now you need to make the top part of the structure with plywood. Trace the outline of the rim on the plywood. Make a final cut-out one inch inside the traced outline (3inches oblique corners) We need to leave a 3 inches of plumbing clearance inside the island. All electronic components, pumps, blower, heater, must be connected to a separate circuit protected by a class A ground fault circuit. An access panel measuring approximately 30 inches by 15 must be located near the systems to allow easy servicing. . Before you install the unit, remove the wood-fiber leg protectors in order to lay the unit on the neutra-phone insulating cushions. Put the bathtub in the alcove and fasten six wood blocks around it to secure it in place. The bathtub must be supported by both the island and the floor, never by the island alone. Connect the plumbing, drain, overflow, faucet etc. Finally, tile or otherwise finish the island and fill the joints with silicone sealant. Choose the combo Hydrofeel®/Aerofeel® for the ultimate in mind-body benefits C/ Install another state of the art Urban shower in the master bathroom For the same reasons we chose a state of the art bathub, which are to select quality appliances for your bathroom when you renovate, we have the pleasure today to install a state-of-the-art Urban minimalist-inspired shower with generous dimensions Crafted with pure lines and innovative design. Altought this shower is very impressive, its installation is simple because, it is already preplumbed and the unit can be added to any bathroom as long as you have the space for it. To find out if you do have the space for it and if so, how to design your bathroom or kitchen, a small economical trick is to make a paln to scale of the room. Cut little pieces of paper corresponding with the size of the appliances. Place these pieces of paper down on the plan and play with them to see how your can plan your new bathroom. We are now ready to install the top of the line shower in the master bathroom: The Urban Shower from Maax. Here are the instructions, good luck.. To protect the unit during the installation, it is recommended that you lay a piece of cardboard on the bottom. If the unit is covered with a protective film, do not remove it before the installation is completed. To provide additional support, soundproof and facilitate levelling, we have putted down a layer of mortar and a sheet of polyethylene. Slide the shower base into position. Install the drain on the base. First drill 3/16 of inch holes into the base and make sure it is the right location. Then you can make the right diameter hole from the finished side of the base. All of its plumbing components, including the body jest, come factory-installed, ensuring optimum configuraton and operation. Drill holes into the base flange, the secure the base with round head screws. Apply a silicone seal to the base then place the wall on the base. Secure the wall with round head screws. So what do you think, it is very simple isn’t it. With the pre-plumbed accessories, it is child play. Now you need to install the roof with the tropical rain shower! Again, we need to apply a silicone seal to the top of the wall then place the rooftop on the wall against the studs. Drill the rooftop flange and secure it with screws. We just nee to connect the water supply, the Rainmax rainmaker hose and the showerhead hose. Urban Shower: Trendy with urban, minimalist style. Crafted with pure lines and simple forms and offers generous dimensions Choose MAAX IES ¾ and rainmax for an energizing experience C/ Finishing the joints 3/8 And now the moment has come to finish up the joints. The essential thing you must do here is apply the tape correctly. Remember the important steps for finishing up joints. You must work with three different sizes of spatulas. The first one must be four inches wide, the second one ten inches wide, and the third one, used to finish off the joints, must be twelve inches wide. You must absolutely avoid contaminating the joint compound with dried-out particles. 05 10241012 10243805 0:28 05 10245124 10254820 0:57 05 10255515 10270100 1:06 2:03 The compound must never freeze and must be kept at a 13 degrees Celsius temperature before and after the job is done. Use another container to refill on your compound. This way, the original container will remain closed and free of all contamination and dried-out particles. For interior corners, apply a large quantity of drywall compound on each side with the four-inch-wide spatula. Then, put up the drywall tape. Fold the tape in two and put it up, firmly pressing on it from the center so it will adhere to the compound. Coat the tape with a light touch of compound and smooth it out carefully. Putting up the tape is a very important step. If the tape is not installed properly, you’ll have to take it off and start over again. For flat joints, apply a large quantity of drywall compound with a five-inch-wide spatula. Immediately put up the paper tape, the smooth side facing out. Don’t overlap the tape where the joints meet. Slide the tape inside the compound with the spatula and coat it with a thin layer of compound. Smooth out the joint. Seal off the screws. Two strokes with the spatula in opposite directions will usually work. 3/9 Wait at least 24 hours for the first coat to dry. Then, lightly smooth out all the small imperfections with medium sand paper or by scraping them off with the spatula. Alternative: Install metal corners Flower box Level the patio General pro-Environment segment We wanted to renovate a country house to put the highlight on the environment. Our homes play a very important part in the way we live and consume. Homes affect our energy consumption, waste production, and pretty much everything else. Your home, the way it is built, the material that were used, its design and its style all play a decisive role on your behavior. Make sure that when you renovate, you take these transformations as an opportunity to improve your energy efficiency, reduce your waste and recycle. Today we saw how to insulate the basement floor to reduce you energy consumption. When you think renovations, think environmentally friendly Info: Insulating a basement concrete floor. 1/16 (30 sec.) 10-10282310 or 10-10283704 Before pouring the concrete slab in a basement, we installed rigid insulation panels on the ground. This will help the concrete remain warm and dry. Humidity levels in the basement will be much lower. Normally, the concrete for the basement floor is poured in after the floor of the first level is completed. This way, the concrete is protected from bad weather. 10 10282306 10302500 2:02 Polystyrene insulation has a high-resistance to compression, 20 pounds for each square inch. This makes it an ideal underlayment for concrete slabs. Make sure the joints are unaligned. Leave a space for a pump . Make sure the joints between the panels overlap and are tightly set together. The basement floor should be poured in once the framework is up. This way, the fresh concrete won’t mature too quickly due to direct sunlight. 0:45 1/17 (Owens Corning Tips Billboard) (25 sec.) Install rigid insulation panels under the concrete slab. The floor in your basement will be less cold and humid. Finally, the basement floor must be poured in once the framework is erected to guard it against direct sunlight and rain. Celfort 200 over concrete slab SYR 2002 5/16 05 10125526 10132215 05 10132906 10144510 1:43 Another alternative to insulate the basement floor with rigid insulation boards consists in installing the boards directly over the concrete slab. Two-inch-thick boards will provide adequate floor insulation. To build the floor, first locate the highest point in the room. Mark this location with a pencil. You will begin installing 1/4 wood strips on the floor starting from this point. The strips are set 30 to 40 cm center to center and around the basement walls. Lay ¾-inch-thick plywood sheets on the wood strips and screw them in with floor screws. You will then be able to install the floor-covering of your choice, including ceramic tiles. Note that a basement floor insulated this way will be very comfortable. 5/17 (Tips Billboard - Owens Corning) Remember that concrete is a porous material and that basement floors let important moisture seep through. To seal off the floor, you can use a polyethylene sheet. Insulate the basement floor with rigid insulation boards. Entrevue: The skylights.
